The goal of Ivymount’s Autism Program is to provide students with a structured, language-rich learning environment in order to learn new skills and decrease interfering behaviors.  Established in 1998, the Autism Program provides educational and intervention services to students with autism and their families.  The program uses evidence-based procedures, including Applied Behavior Analysis, which have been empirically demonstrated to be effective in the education and treatment of autism. Students are taught to function independently across multiple settings at school and in their community. Parent involvement and students’ quality of life are priorities.

Teacher training is best measured through student progress.  Our students’ progress is dependent on highly qualified teachers.

Family involvement is essential in teaching students.  Each family’s unique values, culture and background shape the education we create for their child.
